Boqueria Market

April 8, 2016

Are you that type of person, who prefers tourism with the delicious food or at least coffee at the end of the journey? Then come to me, I’ll give you a hug! Then, I suppose, you also aim to the local markets as one of the first things you do in a new city. It’s a sightseeing with eating as the main purpose. That, at certain point, can almost beat Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. But please, don’t tell anyone I said that.

_MG_2821Smell_of_Jasmine_Boqueria_market_BarcelonaBoqueria market on La Rambla is simply the place to be, for all the greedy ones. Chorizo, cheese, fishes, fruits, chocolate. You can find everything you want there, which means, after one hour, you find yourself with twenty euro less and a full stomach, by tasting small portions of everything, Catalan cuisine gives to this world.

Or, you can sit in one of the restaurants on a bar chair and enjoy tapas instead, watching the rush around. Boqueria is visited by both, tourists and local people, coming here to buy some fresh fish and vegetables.

I use to come there alone, when walking through the downtown of Barcelona, to grab a cone of cheese, meat pasties, ham, and, you know, some fruits, too…. When I’m there with my man, we always choose to go to the same restaurant named Kiosko Universal with the most delicious food. I’ve heard not all restaurants are so great there, but with this one I only had the best experience.

Maybe, I would like to add some more information, but I made myself so hungry now, that I need to take a break. Hope you understand and have something good in your fridge right now, too.
