In the Rush

Can you hear it? It’s ticking. The timer reminding me, that yet another year has passed, and I still haven’t become that perfect human being. I don’t exercise every day, I haven’t learned a new language, didn’t give up my bad habits…The list is endless. If I had ever smoked, I could surely say I wouldn’t have quitted. Not even this year.

That voice in my head uses Tina Turner’s words singing  “The time, time is not on your side”. I feel like a bride standing in front of the altar, not knowing how the hell she got there. I just want to say: “I’m not ready yet”. In other words, it all goes way too quickly, without me giving the permission.

 The world loves to remind us, what we haven’t done yet, while we have become older, again. I’m suspicious that’s the whole point of this every-year-repeating circus. You haven’t done ENOUGH, hurry up, you will miss it! 

It regularly puts me into consideration, whether I should just move to the farm and live with a horse, a dog and a cat, not giving a shit about what year it is. Who cares?

My cat has never seemed to be bothered by the New Year, birthday, anything, And, she apparently thinks she is awesome, young and naturally more than ENOUGH. So, I’m rather learning from her.

 Instead of joining the madness, I booked a ticket to Spain with my man, for the last trip of this year. I postponed the dates of the feasts and will enjoy the time with my family, in my own pace. I wish you the same.
