Majestic on Montjuïc

April 19, 2016

I discovered Montjuïc at my random walk, only ten minutes far from home and was amazed by the majesty of the place and the incredible view, as well. Montjuïc remains the highest point of the city because the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí believed, that no man-made object should be constructed higher than the work of God – the hill. Therefore, La Sagrada Família, when completed, will have its tower peak at 170 meters. This was intended to be one meter less than the Montjuïc hill.

Next time I went there to see the Magic Fountain in colorful lights-music performance in the evening, which is one of the favorite tourist attractions there. But the real magic usually doesn’t appear in the crowd. Later I didn’t stay on the top of the hill. I decided to continue to the park that offers almost full privacy, the sea view, gardens and several remarkable museums. You can see the work of famous artists from Pablo Picasso to surrealists Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró there.

Montjuïc seemed to be the perfect monumental set for the shooting. To emphasize epic character of the place I decided to wear new long black overall paired with a distinctive necklace. We came before 9 in the morning, which is the time in Barcelona, when most of the city is still sleeping.

But I can imagine the interesting experience, worth of surrealists, would also be, to walk there with a good companion, after dinner lasting way too long, and stay here till dawn. In fact, thanks to the clothes, attracting the attention of people going to work, I felt more like that, on my way from the shooting. I think, that’s what I’m going to do the next time, when coming back to Barcelona.

It looks like a really nice place. Perfect for photo shoot! Speaking of height restriction, there’s a similar law too in Bali. There should be no building higher than a palm tree! Not sure about the philosophy though.

Btw, your curly hair looks so nice. Mine is frizzy and unmanageable. Maybe someday you can share some of your tips hehe:D

Thank you so much for your comment Tia! I guess in Bali the limit for the hight of buildings exists because they don’t want developers to disrupt the nature and beautiful views.

I can give you some tips for curly hair, if you want. Message me on daniela.rifai@gmail.com and I’ll be more than happy to share my knowledge with you. 😉

Gorgeous scenery! Totally love your entire look – especially your gold statement necklace. The layers really add some depth to your monochromatic look.

Amazing place. I can’t believe it’s only ten minutes away from your place & you’d never been there before. It looks as if it’s empty too. Stunning site & I love your outfit!

Thank you so much Shannon for your kind words. I knew there is such a place close to my temporary home and I planned to visit it, but it was not my intention to go there that time. I just wanted to walk around a bit, so it was really a nice surprise, when I got there.

      Wish you a wonderful day!
