There is no other color with so many connotations, as is red. Some studies suggest people are perceived as more attractive to the others in this color and command the attention. I personally love red, but not always I’m ready to wear it. When I do, it’s not because I hope to get noticed. It’s when I’m not afraid to get noticed.

Because, to be honest, often the attention is not really pleasing. There are not only handsome, charming people out there, if you know what I mean.

And you are going to get their attention whether you want it or not. So, I wear red dress only when I feel confident, ready to cope with anything and anyone, crossing my way. It’s the act of freedom, to wear what I feel for and don’t let any circumstances discourage me from that.

The Act of Freedom

I don’t want to think about, how many people are looking. The freedom is to wear what makes you feel great, in the moment you wear it, before even crossing the door-step of your own apartment. We are all characters of our own movies and we can choose, which character we want to play today. Dress can significantly help us enhance that character.

When I’m looking on these photos of mine in the red dress, I feel like, yes, this is one of those authentic, daring versions of me. The strong monochrome silhouette reminding me to hold myself proudly, even when I step on my own dress and stumble. I can feel all those staring eyes, some of them malicious. But I don’t let them influence me. Just keep my head high, smile and continue my own way.

If you sometimes hesitate to wear something bold, because you are worried of the attention, I hope the next time you would embrace an adventurous attitude, choosing what makes you feel most beautiful and powerful. It can be a good training for living a more courageous life, generally.

I wore this dress for the afternoon spent in a beautiful castle Buchlovice, built by Italian architects and French garden architects, with many picturesque nooks and a strong Mediterranean atmosphere. As always, we got a lot of attention of other visitors. But I focused on the moment between me and my fellow. The perfect summer day on a dreamy place, spent with the right person and wearing exactly what I want.
