The Life Test

We have a common hobby, with my man. We think about what we would do, if we were billionaires. I can only recommend you that game. It’s not only fun, but it also helps you to better understand, what you really want, deep inside, when you forget all the limitations, for a while.

The important point is, to go deeper. Don’t just say you would go to luxury resort at Maldives, buy expensive cars etc. Be as specific as possible, think about how your week day and weekend would look like, about all the activities, places and people you would hang out with. Only then it starts to be truly interesting, although not so easy.

Search and Select

For me it’s exciting to think about places we would visit, design hotels where we would stay, apartments we would live in. I enjoy the process of making deep research about all the beautiful things from the real estates to dress and go further than simply pin them on my Pinterest wall. Having the access to créme de la créme of what was ever created by the best designers and architects is a pure joy, especially for a creative person.

That’s also the reason, why I always fall for movies and series with an amazing picture design and costumes. My man, as a huge car fan, or as he says, a petrol head, does enjoy configurations of what he sees as the great designed and performance cars on the market. It’s good to see, what some of the world’s greatest talents are able to create.

It might be frustrating for someone, to think about this kind of things and not to have a chance to have them. But similarly like planning a holiday is itself a half of joy, I feel it the same with all other exciting things. Our imagination can often make it even more glamorous than reality could ever be. Moreover, having those outlooks helps us to cultivate the taste and that’s something we can benefit from in our normal everyday lives, too.

We plan our spontaneous trips by private jet, journey by Orient Express, delicious diner with amazing views, taking massage every day, frequent visits to the world’s best opera, concerts, galleries and so on. I’m sure that at this point I would be a great help for anyone with enough resources, but not much enthusiasm for the proper research and selection. That became a big strength of mine in my obsession to bring a vision into life, at any price range. (In case you are a millionaire struggling with that, I will make that research and selection for you, just let me know.) 😉

My latest fashion crush is this bag, that everyone asks me about. And still, it’s totally affordable. It upgrades any outfit from casual, like this one, to more glamour. Maybe, you could give a  Christmas present to yourself?

Know Yourself and Experiment

After travelling the world, we start to consider, what we would do about our career. Because doing nothing for too long gets boring, right? At this point I realized I would be the most probably working exactly in the same field as I do, now.  I would only use the resources to bring it on a different level. I could focus on what I’m the best at, develop it, continue educate myself and let the rest to those who can do it better than me. 

Having the knowledge that I, more less, do what I want to do, is more than heartwarming. I feel the same about our spare time. Luckily, we do a lot of things I mentioned above, only frequency and quality would be on higher level I guess.

If that is not your case, take it as an opportunity to think about it more, experiment, try new things to get know yourself better. It’s a lifetime process, so don’t get too anxious, just because you haven’t figured it out yet. It’s necessary to really try to do things you think could be interesting for you. You may find out, that reality is far from your ideal and you will have to keep looking for something else, in your spare time.

Taste Always Beats the Budget

Also, after such daydreaming, I realized my style would not change so dramatically. I actually love everything I wear. Today it’s really possible to get beautiful clothes for more than affordable prices. Moreover, I have no doubts that it’s much more important to have good taste and creativity than big budget, to be well dressed. There are lots of proofs out there. Of course, in case you have both, you can do miracles like some of the best world stylists do in movies or television series. Spending money on expensive clothes with lack of taste is the same waste as going to the dream place with a wrong person.

 I enjoyed one of the last sunny days of autumn in this casual denim outfit, you know, something like an off duty billionaire. Now I would definitely wear it with boots and upper coat, because the cold weather already hit us. But that streets decorated with the red leaves created beautiful contrast with my outfit, don’t you think so? That’s quite a luxurious background for the shooting, in my opinion. 

You Never Know

The last reason, why you should play this game is, that you never know. Sometimes, incredible experiences come to our lives in the most unlikely way, sometimes without any special effort. This way I was lucky to spend holiday at some stunning apartments and villas like a guest, go for trip with a dream car due to our work and meet people that seemed to be unreachable. Just because life is magical here and there.
