What can be a better opportunity to discover new corners of our own personality, than holiday? New places, new climate and people almost require us to add a bit of freshness to the our old ourselves.
When you usually go sleep early, maybe it’s the right time to stay up longer and sleep till noon the next day. Or, if you are the opposite, like me, then, for once, try to get up early to see the sunrise. (I did it once on my last holiday and I’m proud of it). What stays above all, to forget that there is something like the time running.
Moreover, tasting new food, practicing our poor language skills, playing sports we can’t play. The point is to avoid the usual routine and be a bit new, even childish.
I like to apply this to my fashion choices, too. In my typical – urban – environment, I feel best wearing smart casual outfits, but small towns like those at Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands, inspired me to dress something more playful and girly than usual. In the flared mid skirt with the spotted headscarf, I felt a bit like Alice in Wonderland. Only the cardigan and shoes connected the city version of me with my holiday alter ego. But even that felt quite different in this combo, don’t you think so?
This time, my main interest was not when I can have another coffee, but if the lemon is mellow enough to be picked from a three. Because, it’s amazing to see the lemons somewhere else than on the shelf of the supermarket, isn’t it?
This post is only a small taster of Lanzarote. There is so much to see, so I hope you won’t miss my coming posts.
