I recently realized how strong aversion I have against the questions, that are expected to be answered by a single word. When asked such questions from people I just met, I get somewhat between bored and annoyed. In this category there are all those “Where are you from?”, through “How old are you?”, to “Are you married?” questions, and so on.
Such questions are good for official questionnaires and nothing more. Definitely not for getting to know someone better, neither for having an interesting conversation, nor as an ice breaker. It’s something like “Tell me, what label I can stick on you, without knowing anything at all, ”, or, in better case “I have no idea, what should I talk about, but nevertheless I want to talk.”
Maybe you feel that, I keep failing in answering such questions.
The problem must be me. I can’t even explain, by one word, what my blog is about and put it in one category – better said, the right box. It’s neither simply a fashion blog, nor a straight travel or lifestyle blog. It’s the place, reflecting my passions, my love for photography, my thoughts and first of all it’s The Place of No Boundaries.
One of the reasons, why I created it, was my desire to express my creativity absolutely freely. Unlikely to writing for the newspaper, I enjoy not to care about the silly headlines, helping to increase traffic, not trying to please the masses. But finally, I want to stay authentic and personal, keep developing myself in all possible ways, in picture as well as in words.
My intention is bringing the experience to my readers, and that can be anything. Huge reward for such an approach is attracting like-minded people, who joined me on this adventure. It can go anywhere. Just don’t ask me, what my next step will be. One may never know. 😉 I can only say, there are many ideas in my head and plenty of interests. Not everything can be put into the certain box.
There is no contradiction in having pleasure in fashion and, in the same time, being deeply interested in serious problems of the world, as well. Why are we so often pushed to choose one single direction, classifying ourselves clearly?
The Place of no boundaries already brought the interesting people from different parts of the world, into my life. I have no idea, how old they are, how many times they were married etc. But I know something about their opinions and passions and that’s quite inspiring. And I’m curious to discover more.

Maybe my thoughts will help! We have multiple thoughts and feelings. We can not have one or the same feeling for everything. So we can not have one answer to describe what are we thinking or what are we feeling about this.
That’s right! I think this is, what I feel. People often seek simple answers, but the true is, human nature is much more complicated and many answers can be rather misleading without context.

I hate those questions too. It’s like we can’t have the luxury of explaining ourselves.

Exactly! Thank you so much for stopping by Marta and letting me know your opinion! :*

I’ve always hated those questions! I am not a fan of small talk at all, although I understand the need of it. I feel like there’s so many other interesting things I’d want to know about a person other than where they live or what they do for a living.

I love this casual chic look, perfect for by the water. I have a hard time defining my blog as well, sometimes I feel like it’s gotten away from me and I feel a invisible pressure to post only on certain topics in order to generate views!

Yes, it’s not easy to balance what we think our readers want to read and what we want to write about at the moment. But the honesty always counts a I guess!
Have a great day Alice!
